There are various reasons people look get tattoos; to show their love for a person, as a member of a gang and just to show off. However once their love changes and are no longer a member of a gang and if the tattoo stops them from getting a job, they will want to have their tattoo removed. With so many tattoo removal options available, it's better to understand your options before you consider getting your tattoo removed.
Laser tattoo removal
Laser tattoo removal is the most popular and common method of tattoo removal. Here a laser with pulses of highly concentrated light breaks the tattoo ink into tiny fragments, which your immune system clears away. The tattoo however is not removed in a single sessions; you have to undergo a few treatment sessions to completely remove the tattoo.
This can be rather painful, like your being splattered with hot grease, and is also a rather expensive tattoo removal option. You may require anywhere between 1-10 sessions to remove the tattoo, where each session costs anywhere between 0-0. So a large tattoo will cost thousands of dollars to remove where its tattoo removal effectiveness is not guaranteed.
Intense Pulsed Light Therapy
A high intensity light is used instead of a laser light here, in the same manner for tattoo removal. Here, a gel is applied on your skin while a wand emits pulses of light on the tattoo. This is a less painful and more effective means of tattoo removal. However it comes with a huge price tag of perhaps per pulse. So depending on the number of pulses required per session for removing your tattoo, this could add up to a large amount.
Other tattoo removal options
Though there are methods to remove tattoo like dermabrasion where the top skin layer is practically ‘sanded' away using friction, these options are very painful and not that affective in removing the tattoo. Another such option is excision where the tattoo is cut away, and the skin sewn back together. These methods have been replaced by laser removal therapy as they cause much damage to the skin and are used only in extreme cases where laser removal is not an option.

Who doesn't want to get rid of those ugly spots on the skin - a result of a condition called Melasma? There are several ways that you can get rid of melasma and the ugly blotches it causes on the skin.
The most effective method to get rid of melasma is called laser resurfacing. This is medical treatment in which a doctor, usually a dermatologist, burns the melasma off of the skin with a laser. The main advantage to laser resurfacing is that it can be done quickly and get rid of melasma in one treatment. The other plus is that laser resurfacing can cause the melasma to go away for several years.
A similar method to get rid of melasma is called Intense Pulse Light Therapy or IPL. Like the laser method, Intense Pulse Light Therapy uses intense beams of light to burn off the melasma. Intense Pulse Light isn't as strong as a laser beam and it can take several visits to get rid of melasma. An advantage to IPL is that it doesn't have the harmful side effects of laser resurfacing, which can hurt your skin. IPL is also less painful than laser therapy and doesn't require any recovery time.

Both IPL and laser resurfacing are outpatient procedures that can be done at the doctor's office. Intense Pulse Light therapy will require several doctors' visits while laser therapy only requires one treatment.
A third procedure often used to treat melasma is called a "chemical peel". Chemical peel uses a chemical treatment to literally burn the melasma off of your skin. As with IPL, the chemical peel will have to be administered by a doctor, usually a dermatologist. It will usually take several treatments for a chemical peel to completely get rid of melasma.
The cost of getting several chemical peels or intense pulse light treatments to get rid of melasma can quickly add up. This means that laser resurfacing might actually be cheaper than a chemical peel or IPL because only one treatment is required.
The best way for you to determine how to get rid of melasma is to see a dermatologist. The dermatologist can determine what treatment is best for you.
